| Muritala Ademola Salaudeen popularly known in the music circles as Genius Muri Alabi Thunder was born on August 5th, 1973 to Alhaji Tiamiyu Salaudeen Orimadegun and Alhaja Mariamo Salaudeen in Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government, Lagos State, although he is originally a native of Oje Local Government Area in Oyo state. He had is primary Education at the popular Arakan barrack primary school and secondary school at united Christian school Apapa Lagos. His love for music made him drop out of school at the mid level to concentrate fully on his passion and desire which is music. This decision did not go down well with his parents who threatened to disown him if he does not return back to school. He left home at a very tender age to live with his aunt who supported him all the way to success. In 1999 he signed a record deal with Mosebolatan Music Label and he recorded his debut same year titled Optimism.
